The war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians. Some have taken up arms to defend the country, while others hold the line on the home front. Among them are the wives of servicemen — women who live each day in tension, in anxious anticipation of news from the front, taking care of their children, families, and daily responsibilities on their own. Their lives often unfold on the edge of emotional, physical, and psychological exhaustion.
To respond to this pain and loneliness, we have created a space in our Center where women can find warmth, support, and strength. At its heart are regular gatherings for the wives and mothers of our defenders. This is a special place of care, restoration, and inner resilience. Not just events — but a living community that offers women the feeling that they are not alone, that they are heard and understood, that their daily burdens are seen.
One of the most valuable aspects of these gatherings is the sense of shared experience. For many participants, it is the first time in a long while that they can speak freely about their feelings without fear of being misunderstood. In the process of communication, strong bonds are formed — women find common ground, support each other, and become close.
This is not a one-time initiative — it is a system of ongoing support that embraces various aspects of women’s experiences during the war. Our meetings take many forms: culinary events (including making dumplings together), creative workshops, themed photoshoots, sports activities, and psychological support.
We firmly believe that supporting military families is a crucial part of our home front. When a woman has inner strength, she can be a pillar for her family, a role model for her children, capable of making decisions and carrying life even in the darkest of times.
That is why we continue to develop this initiative — so that as many women as possible can walk this difficult path not alone.
