Here is a man who told me that the Russian military blew up his house when they entered the village, and he and his family fortunately survived. But it affected this man so much that he still cannot recover from this tragedy and restore his mental state.
Many houses were destroyed, and it will take a lot of effort and money to rebuild them. But there are also stories where people have shown great courage.  Seeing grief and people in need is our reality, but we believe that it is important not to lose our sensitivity and love for people by responding to problems with action.
Even if a package with food, clothing, hygiene items or other basic necessities seems like a small help in a global situation, it is a touch to the heart of those who are particularly hard up. We are ready to work as long as IDPs and people in the occupied territories need help.
Our team has just returned from an emergency trip to the border areas of Kharkiv region. They visited villages that have been liberated from occupation for over a year. People are returning and rebuilding their homes.

But there is still an urgent need for humanitarian aid. Because in this area all the surrounding fields are mined. So people cannot cultivate the fields, cannot grow food…. cannot work on the land. And this is what brings them income. There is also an acute problem with the lack of drinking water. That is why we continue to support these people.
They have lost a lot in their lives, some of them, unfortunately, their families. But they did not give up and continue to work and live. They have returned to their homes. And now they need our support more than ever. Because the longer the war lasts, the greater the psychological pressure. As for the danger, of course, it is high. But, unfortunately, people get used to everything and live, cherishing every day of their lives, because tomorrow may not come. Having talked to people and heard their stories, it is hard to imagine what these people have gone through and continue to go through.

The photo shows Nadiya, she was in the village during the occupation with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One day, the occupier wanted to enter her household. She was afraid that he might harm the children, and when he approached her, she grabbed his arm and shouted at him to leave. To her great surprise, he pulled his hand away and walked away. The woman still does not understand how she could dare to do such a thing. After a while, Nadiya saw a tank trying to drive into her yard to hide, and decided to act. At that time, there was no gate and access to the yard was free. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were at home, so she mustered up the courage to stand in the road to prevent the tank from passing. The tank stopped a few centimeters away from her. The Russian tried to pull her away from the tank, and she asked him to promise that he would not drive into her yard because there were small children there. The Russian drove away from her house and caused damage to other houses, but never saw the woman again until he was destroyed. Looking back, Nadiya says she is not sure she would do the same today, it is so scary….

There are many more such horrific stories, and the longer the war lasts, the more of them there will be, unfortunately.
