The last trip of our team was to Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. The situation there is terrible, in the villages where the team was, the water has receded and now all the consequences of the flooding are visible. The team visited the villages: Komyshany (Kherson region), and in Mykolaiv region: Pavlo-Maryanivka, Afanasivka, Vasylivka, Ivan-Kupyno, Snihurivka.

Flooded, ruined houses, cars, equipment and hectares of fields destroyed…. The eyes of confused people who have lost everything. Everything they had worked for all their lives, dreamed of and wished for.

Mostly elderly people remained. The occupation lasted for 8-9 months, most young people left, but there are those who returned after the liberation of the territory. Their houses were not destroyed by shelling, but now they have been destroyed by water.

A grandmother, 92 years old, her house was completely flooded and is beyond repair. She is alone, tearfully telling us that everything is gone and now she doesn’t know how to live until she dies.

Today, people need help with everything from food and hygiene products to clothing and shelter.Mostly people in villages need clothes, mattresses, beds, bedding, pillows, blankets, basic furniture, household items, and building materials.

Physical assistance is needed – there are many elderly people who need to clear out their belongings and take them away, and some people’s flooded houses are beyond repair.

There is also a need for drinking water everywhere, and the supplies we have sent and what they had will be enough (as we heard people say) for 1-2 days. We need to build water wells so that people have drinking water.

In addition to food, water, hygiene products… we also sent pumps for pumping water out of flooded houses in the village (there are many more houses that need to be pumped out).
