On Thursday, January 5, the coordination headquarters of evangelical churches, together with the city social services and volunteers, held the annual holiday event “You are not alone for Christmas” for about 200 lonely and needy elderly Ternopil residents.
We want to give a feeling of peace and care at least for a moment, to give the joy of the holiday and our love this year as well! We cannot give these people peace, but we can give them a feeling of love and warmth! Because the greatest joy for us is to give joy to others.
Everyone is looking forward to Christmas. That’s why we wanted to visit the lonely, bring gifts and see sincere smiles that make us want to believe that they really need us.
Single elderly people, and especially those who are sedentary, need constant external care.
The purpose of the charity event is to support lonely retired persons living in the city of Ternopil during the New Year holidays.
Among the main needs of the retired people this year are food, warm clothes, blankets, bed linen, electrical appliances and heaters
They greeted us with sincere smiles and did not skimp on kind words of thanks. They did not hide their joy and noted that the products brought to them would be enough for several months.
Thanks to your help, we gathered and delivered the necessary kits to homes.
We visited more than 200 low-income retirees, whose lives are not very happy now, because they have long years of life and loss of health behind them. Such help is extremely necessary for them.
It is also difficult for people with disabilities who do not walk or can barely move around the apartment and need care. It is good if relatives are nearby, but those who do not have them or live far away, life is not so sweet.
People were touched by the attention and thanked for the gifts, because they live very modestly.
