The war in Ukraine affected the most vulnerable – children. More than half of young Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and seek shelter. Therefore, together with the Council of Evangelical Churches, last weekend we decided to support the families of military personnel and organize a one-day trip to the famous places of Ternopil Region.
We initiated this project in order to show our land to people who came to Ternopil to escape the war. We want them to love and understand our region. It is not known what their further fate will be: whether they will return home or stay in Ternopil, but in any case, they will know how beautiful it is here. This is also their homeland, so we show its beauty, history, color.
The impressions of the trip exceeded all expectations: the children plunged into a whirlpool of emotions, and the organizers themselves were in a high mood in an atmosphere of positivity. These trips are important. First of all, it is emotional relief, rehabilitation, change of circumstances for those children who have been in war conditions all these days.
We are convinced that getting to know the history of the region should be a source of inspiration and recovery for those who have experienced forced relocation and stress.
